Randy Orton added another legend to his list on Monday.

The night after Extreme Rules was all about the fallout from Sunday’s PPV. Eyes were lost, titles changed hands and more shenanigans occurred on the WWE Network. Monday’s show kept some of those storylines going while turning the focus of some others in new directions.

The first match of the night brought out Seth Rollins to face Aleister Black. Rollins was in Black’s crosshairs for what happened to Rey Mysterio on Sunday, losing an eye during the eye-for-an-eye match. Black looked to get revenge, but it was not an easy task as he had to fight off Murphy before he could get his hands-on Rollins.

Black would hit the Black Mass early and look like he had the former champion pinned, but Rollins rolled to the outside as Murphy dove back into the ring to attack Black. That gave Rollins enough room to recover and retake control of the match. The distraction would play out to be enough to help Rollins get the win in the end as he landed the Curb Stomp which led to the pin fall in the middle of the ring.

It seemed like Cedric Alexander and Ricochet were walking into a 2-on-3 situation as they stared down Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin in the ring. However, they hit them with a swerve as Mustafa Ali returned to join them in a six-man tag match.

With Ali in their corner, Ricochet and Alexander faced off against a group that has been a problem for them the last few months. Benjamin, MVP and Lashley took turns beating on Alexander for most of the match early until Ali got the hot tag to swing things in their momentum. The violence would spill outside as a series of high-flying moves would leave Benjamin, Lashley, Alexander and Ricochet down. That gave Ali enough room to hit the 450 splashes on MVP to pick up the victory for his team.

Ruby Riott gets a win

Peyton Royce was solo on Monday but that did not stop her from continuing to antagonize Ruby Riott. Billie Kay was not ringside when they squared off, but this made for an even match between Royce and Riott. Removing that advantage proved to be key for Riott to finally get a singles victory as she was able to defeat Royce one-on-one.

Andrade and Angel Garza continue to look for ways to get into the tag team title picture and that means going through the current champions, the Street Profits. Before the match could even start, Garza and Andrade jumped the champions to get an early advantage. That worked from the start, but the champions found a way to get things back in their hands, just to fade to Garza and Andrade again. Montez Ford was on the receiving end of a lot of offense but found a way to tag in Angelo Dawkins to push things in the favor of his team. Ford had to rally once again at the end of the match to knock Garza from the top rope, then follow up with his Frog Splash for the victory in this non-title affair.

Bayley and Sasha Banks were out to make an appearance and celebrate Banks claim to the Raw women’s title. They were interrupted by Asuka and Kairi Sane, leading into the match between Bayley and Sane. Sane took the action to the SmackDown women’s champion right from the start, putting Bayley on the back foot. Sane had the champion reeling for much of this match, landing big moves like the spear, spinning back fist, double foot stomp and more. Just when it looked like Bayley was getting some steam, Sane would reverse the Bayley-to-Belly and secure the pin to get a massive upset victory.

The main event of the evening featured an unsanctioned match between the Big Show and Randy Orton. Show came into the match with the intention of hurting Orton any way he could dream and that is what he attempted to do. Show had the size and power advantage, but that did not stop Orton from using as many under-handed tactics as he could to stop the onslaught coming his way. That meant pulling out the steel chair to assault Show after he could not put him away with an RKO. The match got brutal as the assault continued until Orton hit another RKO for the victory. Nothing would stop Orton from delivering the punt to Show’s head, leaving him prone on the mat as the show closed out.
