LA Clippers head coach Doc Rivers joked about President Donald Trump’s handling of COVID-19 Tuesday.

It’s no secret that COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on the entire world and changed life and society as we know it. Doc Rivers took a shot at President Donald Trump Tuesday when speaking about the effectiveness of the NBA‘s coronavirus protocols inside the bubble at Orlando, Florida.

According to the CDC, there are more than 3.8 million cases (577,000 new cases) and 140, 630 deaths from the disease in the United States. The southern, northern, and northeastern states have been the hardest hit by the virus. On Monday, the NBA’s Twitter account stated that of the 346 players tested for COVID-19 since July 13, there were zero positive tests reported. That is a great sign for the NBA restart.

Because of the NBA’s success, Doc Rivers made his joke at Trump’s expense.

When asked about the effectiveness of what the league is doing, Rivers spoke about what everyone in the bubble is required to do and said that since their plan has been working, maybe the White House should follow suit. The NBA has been at the forefront of proactivity with the virus and so far, their plan has worked.

Ultimately, COVID-19 has a weakness that people can attack if they’re wearing masks when they go out consistently, if they’re following social distancing guidelines, if they’re being selfless, and if they’re thinking of others. It’s still unclear whether things will get back to normal. As we’re learning day by day, each individual’s version of normal is drastically different. But at least the NBA will back soon and in a responsible, safe way.
