NFL fans will be required to wear masks at games in 2020

Despite the uncertainty of having crowds at any sort of sporting events this fall, the NFL is still holding out hope with the season right around the corner.
The NFL is currently slated to have a completely functioning regular season. With the start of the regular season coming up in September, there are still a lot more questions than answers surrounding the league’s procedure concerning the COVID-19 pandemic.
The league has been in the process of figuring out what exactly to do with its players. Rookies just reported to training camp, and there have already been a number of positive COVID-19 tests around the league. Player and team personnel safety should be of the utmost importance with the start of the regular season so close.
Another concern that the league has been dealing with is figuring out what to do with its fans that want to go to games. Multiple teams have already said they are not penalizing fans for deferring their season tickets to 2021. For the fans that still want to go to games, the NFL is putting its own regulations in place that masks are required.
While player safety on the field is something that needs to be figured out, the NFL at least has one less problem to deal with as of right now concerning its fans and how to keep them safe at games. Despite this fact, some teams have already put out statements saying there will not be fans in the stands this season.
On the other hand, certain teams are looking towards having a limited capacity at their stadiums. For any of those that fall into this category, this new rule with affect them directly.
Having everyone wear a mask and most likely sit some distance apart will help with social distancing at games. While there is still a lot of work that needs to be done going forward, fans in certain states at least have an idea of what is allowed.
