With plenty of talent still on the NFL free agent market, these teams would be the perfect fits for each of the top remaining free agents.

As the 2020 NFL season quickly approaches, a remarkable amount of talented free agents remain unsigned. Pro Bowlers like Jadeveon Clowney and Everson Griffen are still searching for new homes, and the coronavirus pandemic has certainly played a role in their extended free agency.

With travel limited and players unable to meet with prospective suitors in person, players who otherwise would have been signed at the outset of free agency can now likely be had for cheap, and these teams would be wise to take advantage of their leverage.

Jadeveon Clowney: Tennessee Titans

Clowney was one of the best players in this year’s free-agent class, and the reason behind his availability remains somewhat of a mystery. While he tallied just three sacks in Seattle in 2019, he is a force along the defensive line and will likely command a much more lucrative contract than any of the other players on this list.

With the coronavirus pandemic causing salary cap uncertainty, teams have clearly been hesitant to pay Clowney his market value, and he’ll likely have to take less money on a short-term deal. In that case, the Tennessee Titans are the perfect match.

Tennessee has a talented defense and is coming off of an AFC Championship Game appearance, so Clowney would instantly be joining a contender if he signed there. He would also provide the Titans with the elite pass-rushing threat that they lack, especially now that Jurrell Casey is in Denver.

While the Eagles, Saints, and Cowboys have all been connected to Clowney, he spoke out against Philadelphia fans in the playoffs, and Dallas and New Orleans do not have the same kind of cap space that Tennessee has.

From both a financial and football standpoint, Clowney to Tennessee almost makes too much sense.
