Boban Marjanovic highlights are back and we couldn’t be happier

They’re only scrimmages, but good luck convincing any basketball fan that the NBA’s return this week was unfulfilling.

From Bol Bol running wild on Wednesday to LeBron James and Luka Doncic going back and forth on Thursday, even these meaningless scrimmages have been a welcome sight.

Of course, Luka isn’t the only beloved foreign-born player on the Dallas Mavericks, and as they took on the Los Angeles Lakers in their first scrimmage on Thursday, it didn’t take long for Boban Marjanovic highlights to finally grace our Twitter feeds once again.

Boban Marjanovic was a highlight machine in the Mavs’ first scrimmage.

The clips really came pouring in in the second half, when Marjanovic saw substantial playing time. First, the 7-foot-4 behemoth blocked Dwight Howard twice, all without his feet even leaving the ground:

As if that wasn’t glorious enough, he continued to prove he’s the stretchiest stretch-5 in the association by coolly sinking a wide-open 3-pointer that ignited NBA Twitter:

By this point in the game, we weren’t even surprised to see Boban start shot-putting shots into the hoop with a single hand:

In 23 minutes off the bench, Boban finished with 17 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks, shooting 6-for-9 from the field. He’s not the starting center for the Mavs, nor should he be, but when he gets significant playing time, his every move seems to stand out in the most memorable fashion.

Maybe NBA fans are simply obsessed with their seven-footers, but who doesn’t derive joy from highlights like this, especially from a guy that size who was in John Wick 3? NBA basketball is back, which means Boban highlights are back, and we couldn’t be happier about it.
