Florida State football: 5 blue-chip recruits most likely to sign with the Seminoles
By John Buhler
While looking to dominate in recruitment in other major metro areas in the state such as Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando and Tampa would be fantastic, Mike Norvell needs to win big with his home base of Tallahassee. There is a good bit of talent residing in the Florida state capital and he needs to capitalize on it. One player he should be in on is four-star safety Terrion Arnold.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Arnold is the No. 9 safety in the country, the No. 29 player from Florida and the No. 186 player nationally in his recruiting class. He has 45 official offers but has honed his recruiting focus in on three Power 5 schools: The University of Alabama, the University of Florida and Florida State University.
Though Arnold’s primary recruiter is not listed on his 247Sports recruiting page, it’s not like someone on Norvell’s staff can’t keep close tabs on the guy, as he’s already in the same town where the Power 5 university calls home. However, Alabama and Florida are certainly worthy adversaries to land his commitment and pull a top-tier talent out of Tallahassee from the ‘Noles.
At this time, Alabama is seen as his favorite, with Florida State a distant second. Florida is still in the mix for his commitment, too. However, we have to believe the Seminoles could make a late charge for him and have the advantage of being able to stay home to play his college football for Florida State. The Seminoles can win this recruiting race, but they’ll need to pick up the pace here.
