Dallas Cowboys-Dak Prescott will be the NFL MVP

The Cowboys really botched contract negotiations with their franchise quarterback this offseason. That doesn’t mean Prescott can’t have a really good 2020 season though. Quite the contrary, there are plenty of reasons to believe he’s approaching the best season of his young career.

The addition of CeeDee Lamb in the draft gives him three high-quality wide receivers to work with. Ezekiel Elliott should continue to be one of the most productive rushers in the NFL if he stays healthy. That gives Prescott a chance to throw for over 5,000 yards while completing over 70% of his throws. If he does that while leading Dallas to 12 or more wins he’s going to get a ton of positive attention from the media. When Prescott wins and MVP award it’s only going to make Jerry Jones look more foolish for not giving him a long-term deal.

New York Giants-Dexter Lawrence will notch double-digit sacks

Lawrence entered the NFL with massive expectations but endured a relatively underwhelming rookie campaign. The Giants expected more than 2.5 sacks out of the super athletic edge rusher.

The good news for New York’s coaching staff is that Lawrence still possesses elite athleticism. Guys with his combination of size and speed don’t come around that often. It’s very reasonable to think his production will skyrocket as he adjusts to the rigors of professional football.

The Giants need Lawrence to break out in a big way if they want to flirt with the playoffs. Expect the former Clemson star to give his defense at least 10 sacks in his second season in the league.
