Vlad Guerrero, Jr. notched his first home run of the season, in part thanks to the Nats outfield

Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. gives fans some of the best batting practice shows in all of baseball (when supporters are allowed to watch, of course), so he can be forgiven Tuesday’s incident, in which his first home run of the season just barely made its way over the left-center field wall. Washington outfielders Victor Robles and Emilio Bonifacio both were in position to make a leaping catch, but instead collided at the wall. As a result, the ball went off of Robles’ glove, bouncing over the wall.

Guerrero, Jr. has some of the best pop in all of baseball, as evidenced by his performance in the 2019 Home Run Derby. Now that he doesn’t have to worry about any service time issues, Vladdy is expected to put up powerful numbers in 2020 for a young and rapidly-improving Blue Jays squad.

What can we expect for the now-homeless Blue Jays?

The shortened MLB season gives just about every team a chance, even the Blue Jays, who are banned from playing in their own country thanks to the United States’ failure to contain the COVID-19 virus.

An injury to Ken Giles signals a rough start for Toronto (or Buffalo, depending on your preference), meaning perhaps they’re due a bit of good luck. This makes the fact that two professional baseball players collided in the outfield despite there being no noise to distract them all the more believable.
