Antonio Brown recently received an eight-game suspension for the 2020 season even though he’s not currently signed with an NFL team. He shared his thoughts via Instagram.

Antonio Brown hasn’t played an NFL snap since Week 2 of the 2019 season when he was in a Patriots uniform. That was the only game he’d play as a member of the then-defending Super Bowl champions, as he was released not long after due to sexual assault allegations against him.

Brown didn’t take the release well and continued to cause drama long after his release. This led to no other teams wanting to bring him in, even when the playoffs inched closer.

Everyone was waiting to see what kind of suspension Brown would receive should he sign with an NFL team and now the hammer has come down — he’ll be suspended eight games in 2020. This means that if a team wants to potentially have Brown for the playoffs in 2020, they’ll still consider bringing him in and plan to have him out for the first half of the regular season.

Antonio Brown discussed new beginnings in his Instagram post.

The Instagram post, which Brown published last night, is a mature response from Brown where he thanks the league for allowing him a chance to redeem himself. He says he’s grateful to play the sport that he loves and is looking forward to eventually sign with a new team and get back to work soon.

It’s good to see Brown take this suspension well and not throw a hissy fit about it, like he has with most big situations that have arose during the course of his career. Maybe this is a step in the right direction for Brown and he truly is going to become a better person.

As of now, Brown is still not signed with any team and if he wants to play in 2020, he’ll have to sit out for the first half of the regular season. After that though, he’d be a great wide receiver option for a team to have in their arsenal for a potential playoff run, assuming he doesn’t get in any trouble along the way.
