The Hurricanes trolled their haters on Twitter after their win on Tuesday.

The Carolina Hurricanes were feeling pretty good about themselves following their series-clinching 4-1 win over the New York Rangers on Tuesday night. So good that they decided to expose some Rangers fans who were in their mentions on Twitter before the series started.

These Rangers fans seemed to be extremely confident that their team would take the series and move onto the round of 16. However, the Hurricanes easily handled the Rangers, sweeping them in three games. Throughout the series, they outscored the Rangers 11-4.

The Canes have one of the best social media accounts in all of sports. They even posted a tweet last night throwing it back to when Rangers winger Brendan Lemieux mocked their trademark Storm Surge in a game this February.

The Canes became the first team to progress to the round of 16 on Tuesday. They will now face one of the Eastern Conference’s top five teams in the first official round of the NHL Playoffs.

The Hurricanes may be primed for a deep playoff run

The Canes looked great in the Qualifying Round. Sebastian Aho led the way with eight points in the three games. Andrei Svechnikov recorded the first playoff hat trick in Hurricanes history in Game 2 and finished with five total points.

The Canes could be primed for a deep playoff run. They have an extremely talented young core, deep on both ends of the ice. Aho and Svechnikov are budding superstars and the perfect players to lead the Canes deep into the playoffs.

The one area where the Canes could run into issues is between the pipes. One of James Reimer and Petr Mrazek is going to need to step up for the Hurricanes if they want to make it deep this season.

The Panthers should bench Sergei Bobrovsky. dark. Next
