It’s been almost nine years since Michigan last beat Ohio State, but Jalen Rose thinks this is the year the Wolverines finally top the Buckeyes.

Michigan football has had a lot to be proud of over the last decade, but one thing they’d like to add to those accomplishments is taking down their biggest rival, Ohio State. This is something the Wolverines have not done since 2011 when they won 40-34 over the Buckeyes.

Ever since then, it’s been a tough go of it for Michigan, who have lost by double-digits in the past three meetings and were blown out the past two years (62-39 in 2018 and 56-27 in 2019). It hasn’t been fun for Michigan fans to sit through that and despite Jim Harbaugh’s accolades since taking the reins of the program, his seat is going to remain hot until he beats the Buckeyes.

Jalen Rose, who played for Michigan basketball in the early 90s, says this is the year his alma mater gets it done

Rose appeared as a guest on Get Up! and said that he’s stoked about the Michigan/Ohio State game being moved because he plans to be there (even if he has to social distance to do so). Rose is confident that his Wolverines are finally going to take down the big, bad Buckeyes this year.

Rose was asked about his thoughts on the match-up and joked that with everything going on in the United States right now, wouldn’t it be fitting if the Wolverines could finally secure a win against their biggest rival?

While it’d be fun to see the upset happen, Ohio State is absolutely loaded heading into 2020, so if Michigan wants to win it, they’re going to have to pull out all the stops. They’ll be at home in Ann Arbor, which normally would help, but who knows if fans will be allowed to attend?

Michigan fans hope that Rose is right because if they lose to Ohio State again in 2020, that’ll make it nine straight losses to the Buckeyes. Time to buck the trend and take down the bullies from Columbus.
