NBA DFS picks August 5: Anthony Davis eyes

We have another six game NBA DFS day in the bubble. These tips should help no matter which site you play on. FanDuel has the more stringent roster with players not eligible at more than one position and you only get to use one center. Of course, FanDuel has more roster slots with two of everything but center.

We still have injuries to keep an eye on in the bubble. Let’s check that first.

Out: Will Barton (knee), Jaren Jackson (knee), Dennis Schroder (paternity), Bojan Bodganovic (wrist), Jonathan Isaac (knee), Gary Harris (hip), Mike Scott (knee), Big Dog III (hip), Tyus Jones (knee), Garrison Mathews (coronavirus), Brad Beal (shoulder), John Wall (Achilles), Davis Bertans (opt out), Bryn Forbes (quad), Rajon Rondo (thumb), Nigel Williams-Goss (ankle), Justise Winslow (hip), Kyle O’Quinn (missed coronavirus test), Ryan Broekhoff (opt out), Zhaire Smith (knee), LaMarcus Aldridge (shoulder), Trey Lyles (appendix), Vlatko Cancar (foot), Avery Bradley (opt out), Mike Muscala (concussion), Turd Ferguson (leg), Al -Farouq Aminu (knee), Patrick McCaw (knee), Oshae Brissett (knee), Wilson Chandler (opt out), Kevin Durant (Achilles), DeAndre Jordan (opt out), Michael Beastley (coronavirus), Kyrie Irving (shoulder), Spencer Dinwiddie (coronavirus), Taurean Prince (coronavirus).

Questionable: Caris LeVert (thigh), Jamal Murray (hamstring), Joe Harris (back), Jamal Crawford (hamstring), Michael Carter-Williams (foot).

More than likely LeVert, Allen, and Harris will play. The Nets decided to punt against the Bucks. The Bucks punted back. It was ugly, but such is the state of the NBA where back to backs are concerned. That can make NBA DFS a nightmare at times.

I had way too much exposure to Reggie Jackson and Bogdanovic to sniff the cash line. The pricing has tightened up on both sites, but moreso on DraftKings. That makes the builds a little tougher. The best advice is to limit your exposure to value picks so one doesn’t destroy every one of your lineups.

Back by popular demand is the trifecta, where I attempt to pick the top three point scorers of the day. Yesterday I hit with Luka at the top, but Westbrook was a turd and Giannis only played 15 minutes (and still scored 29 DraftKings points).

Today is tough for the trifecta due to matchups. I’ll go with Davis, Jokic, and Embiid. You can attempt to fit all three on DraftKings. On FanDuel you can maybe get two since Davis is a PF.
