Who knew Bob Stoops would be this captivating as a tequila pitchman?

From the Norman sidelines to a Tulsa liquor store, what a beautiful ride it has been for Bob Stoops.

Back in February, Stoops was back doing what he does best in coaching football. He was the head coach of the XFL’s Dallas Renegades before the second incarnation of the league went belly up because of the coronavirus. Now it’s all about going bottoms up, as the legendary former head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners is the world’s next great tequila pitchman.

From Boomer Sooner to Boozer Sooner, who doesn’t love the sound of that?

Stoops told us on Twitter he’s hustling some Rock N Roll Tequila at Deep Discount Liquor in Tulsa, Oklahoma. So why wouldn’t you want to show up and get you an autographed bottle of tequila shaped like a guitar? It’s a story worth telling your grandkids about one day. “Back in 2020, I got an autographed bottle of tequila shaped like a guitar from Bob Stoops.” As Stoops says, “No excuses.”

Stoops has solidified his spot in the College Football Hall of Fame. The soon-to-be 60-year-old former head coach from Youngstown, Ohio went 190-48 in 18 seasons at Oklahoma. The Sooners went 121-29 in Big 12 play under his watch, winning 10 Big 12 Championship and the 2000 National Championship in his second year on the job. Now, he’s one heck of a tequila salesman.

At this stage in his life, Stoops can do whatever he wants. He may get back into coaching, as his younger brother Mark Stoops is thriving with his Kentucky Wildcats in SEC country. Stoops may go into broadcasting or be a college football analyst. Or he may become the face of Rock N Roll Tequila for the next decade? Whatever he decides, we know he’ll succeed because he always has.
