Suns surprise players with family members announcing starting lineups
Phoenix Suns players were given quite the surprise from family members.
If you need reason to smile today, NBA fans, leave it to the Phoenix Suns to deliver that for you in quite the heartwarming way.
The young Phoenix team continues to make sensational plays on the hardwood, with Devin Booker emerging as one of the finest guards in the league. And even though he’s among the biggest stars on the planet, that doesn’t mean he’s immune to getting emotional seeing his loved ones.
Such was the case when Suns players were surprised by their family members, who delivered the team’s starting lineup in a truly awesome way on Tuesday prior to the showdown with the 76ers.
Suns players were quite emotional seeing their families introduce the starting lineups
These clips are tear-jerkers for sure. For all the NBA players, they’ve been in the league’s Orlando bubble for quite some time and haven’t been able to see their families since the action resumed. So, for many of the players, this is the longest they’ve gone without seeing their closest loved ones in years.
In the video seen above, you can see just how much the warm wishes and the special starting lineup clips meant to the Suns players. It was something they clearly weren’t expecting. The looks on their faces says it all.
Whoever thought of this brilliant idea deserves a raise immediately. Not only did it mean a ton to the families (and fans, in the case of Jenna Warren, Booker’s No. 1 fan) back home who sent in the clips, but everyone in the starting five was greatly appreciative of the amazing gesture.
Don’t be surprised if you see more teams follow Phoenix in having loved ones introduce the starting lineups.
During these tough times, it’s just a reminder that while these NBA players are doing what they love and providing entertainment every night, that doesn’t mean their mental health isn’t being affected by being so far away from the people who warm their hearts the most. Props to the Suns for making this happen.
