Doug Pederson is back with his team.

The NFL is continuing on with the 2020 season even after a series of positive COVID-19 tests for coaches and players. They believe in their system and so far it appears to be working.

One concerning positive test was revealed by Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson earlier this month. He announced his diagnosis and was immediately sent home to serve a 10-day quarantine. Good news came out Wednesday regarding Pederson’s status.

Doug Pederson returns from COVID

Pederson is 52 years old and there is concern for anyone that age when it comes to a positive COVID-19 test. He was reportedly asymptomatic, which is even better news.

The NFL has had time to prepare a proper plan and it has seemed to work so far in terms of not allowing outbreaks to take place. We can give them a bigger pat on the back if the season goes off without having to shutdown.

Pederson is the third NFL head coach to test positive along with New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn. All three appear to be doing fine and that is fantastic news.

The Eagles coach has a 38-26 record in four seasons and guided his team to a Super Bowl in only his second season ever as a head coach. The worst record he has had was a 7-9 finish in 2016.

The guys in Philadelphia seem to gel well with Pederson and his return can serve as motivation to his team. It can also serve as a sign that players, coaches, and staff need to be extra careful when it comes to COVID-19.  One outbreak has the chance of shutting down the entire season.
