Tua Tagovailoa’s journey from Hawaii to the NFL will be documented on FOX.

There will be a Tua Tagovailoa documentary coming out on FOX and we cannot wait.

The No. 5 overall pick by the Miami Dolphins in the 2020 NFL Draft began his football journey as a southpaw quarterback from Hawaii. He made his trek to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and became a star for the SEC’s Alabama Crimson Tide. Tagovailoa won a national championship and an SEC champion in his three years at Alabama. However, it was far from smooth sailing for him there.

The documentary titled “Tua” will air on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 4:00 p.m. ET on FOX. It will showcase his incredible journey from Hawaii to Tuscaloosa to the NFL. From the triumphs on the gridiron to the myriad of injuries and adversity he has dealt with, it’ll surely be a captivating television experience for anyone who loves football at any level.

Can Tua Tagovailoa be Dan Marino’s heir apparent with the Miami Dolphins?

While Alabama has won a ton in its illustrious football history, rarely have the Crimson Tide had a quarterback as special as Tagovailoa grace the Tuscaloosa campus. Though three future Pro Football Hall of Famers played for the legendary Paul “Bear” Bryant in Bart Starr, Joe Namath and Ken Stabler, none electrified us as much as Tagovailoa did at Alabama playing for Nick Saban.

Rarely will you see a spiral spin as beautifully as it does coming out of Tagovailoa’s left arm. He throws the football with great accuracy, precision and anticipation. Though he has earned a reputation of being injury-prone, the Dolphins are hoping he can be the next Dan Marino or Bob Griese for them. It’s been two decades of mostly quarterbacking futility for the Dolphins.

If healthy, Tagovailoa can be as good as Drew Brees has been for the New Orleans Saints. Tagovailoa’s athleticism may be a bit overstated, but the guy is incredibly competitive and as tough as they come. However, he could end up being the next Sam Bradford in the NFL, a former blue-chip prospect who seemed to get bit by the injury bug one year after another.

Next. Which NFL offenses will take a giant leap forward in 2020?. dark

Miami has an up-and-coming head coach in Brian Flores. Along with general manager Chris Grier, the Dolphins actually resemble a competent football team when it hasn’t really been the case for the better part of two decades. Flores doesn’t have to be Don Shula to have success with his team, but he will need Tagovailoa to live up to his lofty draft status if he wants staying power.

Look to be moved by all the storylines from Tagovailoa’s upcoming documentary on FOX.
