Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts sang a little song at the team’s rookie training camp show wearing a Philadelphia Phillies jacket, but his voice could use some work.

Jalen Hurts is already making himself at home in Philadelphia as the Eagles second-round pick and sported a stylish Philadelphia Phillies jacket at Friday night’s rookie show at training camp.

As is a tradition across the NFL, rookies are put in front of their entire team and coaches and sign their alma maters or some other song that they know all the words to. It’s to humble them and give the veterans and coaches a good laugh at their expense. It’s basically wholesome hazing.

For Hurts, he sang and reminded everyone he shouldn’t quit his day job. Although, he did look good with his blue Phillies jacket that he hoped would take away from his voice that Randy Jackson thought was a bit pitchy and Simon Cowell was not impressed enough to give him the golden ticket to Hollywood.

As a singer, Jalen Hurts makes for an excellent quarterback

Good thing for Hurts he’s not trying out for American Idol and is trying out to win the No. 2 quarterback job behind incumbent starter Carson Wentz.

Ultimately, Hurts is not going to be content with backing up Wentz, but it’ll be tolerable as a rookie if Eagles head coach Doug Pederson is able to work him in on special packages to take advantage of his skill-set and his dual-threat abilities. Perhaps some goal-line packages will be in order for Hurts to present a different look for opposing defenses to worry about.

The former Oklahoma and Alabama quarterback is a fan-favorite in both Norman and Tuscaloosa and it’s abundantly clear that Hurts is making fans in Philadelphis fall in love with him too.
