Jamie Newman clearly spent the last several months pumping some iron.

Georgia football’s Jamie Newman would like to extend you an invitation to the gun show.

With the start of the 2020 college football season rapidly approaching, teams that plan on playing like the Georgia Bulldogs of the SEC have begun their fall training camps. Georgia should be one of the teams capable of contending for a national title. It helps that their graduate transfer quarterback is absolutely shredded.

Here he is Hulking out of his black practice jersey Monday.

Georgia football’s Jamie Newman begs the question, “Do you even lift, bruh?”

Going forward for the rest of fall camp, Newman should not be required to wear sleeves at Georgia practice. He should be proud of these arms he’s got, as they’re potentially going to carry this Georgia offense to the promised land. If he’s as good as what people have suggested the Wake Forest Demon Deacons graduate transfer is, Dawg Nation will be collectively beside itself.

Newman emerged as a terrific deep-ball passer and an accurate tight-window thrower while playing for Dave Clawson at Wake Forest. While the Demon Deacons weren’t a great team in a lousy ACC, Newman clearly put enough on tape to become the most preeminent quarterback on the transfer market back in January. He could be some variation of Cam Newton and Jalen Hurts.

Defensively, Georgia has the scheme, the coaching and the on-field talent to be among the very best units in college football. That is what we’re expecting out of the Dawgs this year. The question is whether the passing game and the offense in general will hold them back like it has in recent years. How Newman plays for new offensive coordinator Todd Monken will be everything for UGA.

Head coach Kirby Smart hired Monken to bring a more innovative offensive approach to Georgia. Monken has been an NFL offensive coordinator before, most recently on Dirk Koetter’s staff with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As long as the Dawgs aren’t pedestrian in the passing game, they could have the balance necessary to win just about every game they play this season.

With arms clearly chiseled out of granite, look for Newman to put them to work now at Georgia.
