5 reasons Cowboys can win the Super Bowl this year
2. Dak Prescott has continued to emerge as a star
Football is also a game that is heavily quarterback-driven. With the notable exception of Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles three years ago, the Super Bowl champion has had a great player at quarterback.
Fortunately for the Cowboys, they have a budding star in Prescott. 2019 was a breakout season for Prescott, who threw for 4,902 yards and 30 touchdowns a year ago.
The main story around Prescott has been the lack of progress on a long-term deal with the Cowboys. Prescott will not hold out, signing his franchise tender in June as he plays the year on the tag.
There are still long term questions about Prescott’s future, but in the short-term, he should continue to get better. That is a huge positive for Dallas as they look to win their first Super Bowl since 1996.
