Chiefs sign former Dolphins safety Adrian Colbert

The Chiefs addressed a safety need by signing former Dolphin Adrian Colbert
We’re not sure how the Chiefs and Brett Veach have any money remaining, but they just added to a very solid secondary that already includes Juan Thornhill and Tyrann Mathieu. Thornhill missed most of last season thanks to a torn ACL. Just in case disaster strikes with either one, Kansas City has added Adrian Colbert, who started five games for the Miami Dolphins just last season under Brian Flores.
Miami got the most out of Colbert, who they claimed off the Seattle Seahawks practice squad just a year prior. Colbert started five games and made 22 tackles. The 27-year-old will have to undergo COVID-19 testing before his arrival to Chiefs camp, which should take around three days.

Colbert, 27, was recently released by the Miami Dolphins. He played 361 defensive snaps for them last season.
What does Colbert add to the Chiefs safety core?
The Chiefs starting safeties are likely to be Mathieu, Thornhill and Daniel Sorenson. Behind those three could be any number of players, including Rodney Clemons, Jalen Julius and Armani Watts. On the surface, depth seems like an initial issue with this group, making the decision to bring in Colbert all the more important.
Colbert is unlikely to provide much of a salary cap hit for Veach and Co., but after extensions for Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones and Travis Kelce, the Chiefs have next to no room remaining to bring in any players of consequence. As Super Bowl champions who return most of their playmakers on both sides of the ball, they shouldn’t need too many reinforcements, anyway.
