Miami Dolphins starting linebacker Vince Biegel was carted off the field after suffering what appears to be a serious leg/knee injury.

This is the last thing the Miami Dolphins wanted to have to worry about right at the start of training camp. During practice on Tuesday morning, star linebacker Vince Biegel, fresh off a great 2019 campaign, went down with what appears to be a serious leg/knee injury.

Biegel was carted off the field and was seen being taken off in a ton of pain. He was also quite emotional too, which can’t be a good sign for Miami.

Miami Dolphins fans are fearing the worst for Vince Biegel, who went down with a serious-looking injury during practice

The severity of Biegel’s injury, or what exactly he suffered, has yet to be announced by the team. As of this writing, though, things aren’t look promising. Early on during camps, we’ve seen multiple players go down with rough injuries.

On Monday, Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Gerald McCoy suffered a season-ending quad injury after hurting himself during one-on-one drills. As soon as McCoy went down, teammates and trainers knew just how serious it was and he’ll unfortunately be out the rest of the way for first-year Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy.

That’s exactly what the Dolphins are hoping is not the case for their stud linebacker in Biegel. Losing him for 2020 would be a massive blow to the defense. Last year, the 6-3, 245-pounder appeared in 15 games and made 10 starts. He went on to post 59 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

After such a strong showing in 2019, Biegel was expected to be among the defensive leaders for this young Miami squad this season. For now, we’ll have to wait and see if he’ll be able to take the field for the Dolphins at any point this fall.
