Montravius Adams suffered an injury Tuesday

The Green Bay Packers spent a third-round pick on Montravius Adams back in the 2017 NFL Draft. The defensive end has appeared in around 20 percent of the defensive snaps the past two seasons and is looking to boost his stock in 2020.

He is off to a tough start after suffering a toe injury at practice Tuesday, but despite a scare, it seems like Adams will be fine with some time off.

Montravius Adams expected to be fine in due time

The early word that this injury is not serious is a good sign. Adams is in the final year of his rookie contract and currently sits with 1.5 career sacks and 33 total tackles. And while he has had limited success, Adams still has the third-highest cap hit of any defensive lineman on the roster behind only Dean Lowry and Kenny Clark, but that $850,000 is chump change to Brian Gutekunst..

The entire Packers defense is under pressure in 2020 after getting destroyed in last year’s NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers. Jimmy Garoppolo only threw for 77 yards as the 49ers combined to run for 285 yards. Raheem Mostert had 220 yards and four touchdowns on his own.

There has been an unfortunate trend of injuries sweeping the NFL right now, which could be due to a lack of proper training this offseason. In Adams’ case, he seems to be safe for now in terms of avoiding serious injury.

The NFL season is less than four weeks away and the Packers are looking to compete in what could be one of Aaron Rodgers’ final years in town. Being at full strength on both sides of the ball is vital.
