5 reasons Seahawks can win the Super Bowl this year
The Seahawks have been consistently good with Russell Wilson at the helm, but this is a year where they can emerge as Super Bowl champions.
The 49ers might be the preseason favorites to win the NFC West, but don’t count out the possibility of the Seahawks reasserting their dominance in the division. Russell Wilson’s team has a clear path towards winning a Super Bowl title this season.
Any team that has a potential MVP at the game’s most important position has a fighting chance to make noise in the postseason. Wilson might not be on Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes’ level as a quarterback, but he’s not that far off.
The team’s defense continues to be stingy with head coach Pete Carroll at the helm. Adding Jamal Adams to the secondary will give the Seahawks more defensive flexibility in 2020. He gives his unit a chance to be elite.
There’s no doubt that the Seahawks are legitimate title contenders. Here are the top five reasons why Seattle can win it all.
5. Greg Olsen will be a safety blanket
At 35 years of age, it’s obvious acquiring Olsen is a win-now move for the Seahawks. If he stays healthy, he has a chance to develop into a valuable safety valve for Wilson.
Olsen isn’t going to run deep routes down the seam and burn opposing secondaries over the top. Instead, look for him to work hard to find space in the middle of the field. He excels at finding pockets of space and using his stellar hands to keep the chains moving.
The Seahawks would be wise to pick their spots with Olsen during the regular season to make sure he’s ready to go when the playoffs come around. He’s the perfect sort of veteran to put Seattle over the top when the stakes are at their highest.
