Here are three future Kansas City Chiefs players who are currently with another team.

It is no secret that the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs have a stacked team.

On offense they are led by reigning Super Bowl MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is one of the best players in all of football. They also have a great tight end in Travis Kelce and a great wide receiver in Tyreek Hill.

With the offensive line, they have one of the best tackles in the NFL in Mitchell Schwartz and a very talented rookie running back in Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

On defense, they are not as talented compared to the offense, but they still have a prolific safety in Tyrann Mathieu and Pro Bowl defensive linemen Chris Jones and Frank Clark.

Although the Chiefs have the most talented roster in the NFL from top to bottom, they still have weak spots that need to be addressed or positions that could just use some more depth.

Here are three future Chiefs players who will be brought on in order to address these weaknesses.

No. 3: Cade Mays

Offensive lineman Cade Mays was a 5-star prospect coming out of high school and committed to play for Georgia in 2018.

After playing two seasons with the Dawgs, Mays decided to transfer to Tennessee back in January, but his waiver for immediate eligibility was denied. There is an appeal being filed by Mays, but it is impossible to predict when the NCAA will make a decision or what their decision will be.

Regardless of all the transfer drama surrounding Mays, it does not change the fact that he is an incredibly talented offensive lineman. Mays was even selected as a pre-season All-American for this upcoming fall before the NCAA released their ruling.

And for the Chiefs, they will have to deal with the loss of offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif for this season, who has gone to serve as a healthcare worker fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Duvernay-Tarrdif could very well return to Kansas City in 2021, but he will have lost out on a year of NFL experience and conditioning, and it will be very difficult for him to return to his previous form after taking a year off.

Mays is a versatile lineman who could fill in wherever the Chiefs need him, but the catch is whether Mays will play for Tennessee this season, go straight to preparing for the NFL, or sit out and play for the Vols in 2021 and then go onto the NFL.
