A Washington Nationals employee in the Dominican Republic has been fired after he threw hot coffee in the face of a female convenience-store worker.

This is no doubt the kind of behavior that the defending World Series champion Washington Nationals are simply not going to put up with.

Over the weekend, it was announced by the club that Jazhiel Morel, the administrator of Washington’s academy in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, had been relieved of his duties effective immediately.

Why? Because Morel got into an argument with a female worker at a convenience store in his home country and decided it’d be a smart idea to throw scolding hot coffee right in her face.

The Washington Nationals wasted no time in firing an employee in the Dominican Republic for the concerning incident

In the video posted above, you can see Morel getting into a bit of a heated interaction with the worker. After a few moments, he appears to grab two different cups of coffee and launched them both directly in the woman’s face.

“The Washington Nationals learned of this horrific incident earlier today and immediately terminated the employee,” Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo told ESPN on Saturday. “We do not tolerate this type of behavior in our organization.”

According to Dominican journalist Edith Febles, Morel has agreed to turn himself into police first thing on Monday morning.

After winning the World Series last fall, the 2020 campaign has been one to forget thus far for the Nats.

As of this writing, the team is a lowly 10-13 on the year and on the outside looking in of the postseason. This latest incident with Morel has only brought a tremendous amount of embarrassment to the club, something Rizzo wasn’t going to tolerate at all.
