As expected, no San Francisco 49ers fans will be allowed in attendance for the home-opener at Levi’s Stadium.

For all your San Francisco 49ers fans who were holding out hope you’d be able to attend the team’s first 2020 showdown at Levi’s Stadium, we’ve got some bad news for you.

It’s been announced that the defending NFC Champions will not be allowing spectators inside the stadium for the home opener against the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 13. The decision stems from the growing concerns of the coronavirus pandemic and the toll its taken on the United States.

While no one will be allowed for the Week 1 showdown against Arizona, San Francisco did say they’ll reevaluate things at a later date to determine whether or not things will change.

The 49ers will reevaluate things later this season to see if they’ll once again open doors for fans to attend games

The news comes after the Chargers and Rams announced that no fans will be allowed inside the luxurious new SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles until further notice. Also in the NFC West, the Seattle Seahawks said last week that they won’t be allowing any fan attendance for at least the first three home games of the campaign at CenturyLink Field.

San Francisco has been hard at work during training camp, as they look to defend their division crown. On paper, it figures to be a battle between the Seahawks and 49ers for NFC West supremacy, but both the Cardinals and Rams figure to make plenty of noise as well.

The 49ers had themselves a busy offseason too, of course highlighted by signing superstar tight end George Kittle to a record-breaking contract.

Unfortunately for the San Francisco faithful, they’ll have to wait a little longer to see Kittle, Jimmy Garoppolo and the rest of the squad live in action. When the doors do open back up, though, the 49ers will be ready to put on a show.
