Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had some wholesome fun while mic’d up.

One of the best parts of the NFL is having coaches and players mic’d up, meaning that they have a microphone attached to them that catches everything they say on the field and or on the sidelines.

Normally, players and coaches who are being recorded produce great moments with their trash talk on the field or strange conversations on the sideline, but that was not the case for Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Kelce was mic’d up for one of the Chiefs’ practices during training camp where he provided the team and fans with some wholesome entertainment.

While he was being recorded, Kelce had a lot of fun with his teammates and playfully asked quarterback Patrick Mahomes how his wife and kids have been since Mahomes does not have a wife and kids.

Kelce continued to shoot the breeze with teammates and debated pizza

Later in the video, Kelce then engaged in the extremely fiery debate on whether or not pineapple is a good topping for pizza. And amusingly enough, he was talking about that topic with backup quarterback Jordan Ta’amu who is a native of Hawaii.

And when Ta’amu said that he does not like pineapple on pizza, Kelce responded by saying, “This guy’s from pineapple land-doesn’t even like pineapple on his pizza, unbelievable.”

He then went onto make a Pokemon reference by calling the quarterbacks “Pikachu” since they were wearing bright yellow jerseys.

Kelce has worked with Gatorade in the past and also used his opportunity of being mic’d up to do some advertising by labeling Gatorade as a “thirst-quenching, electrolyte-filling, hyradtional drink.”

Kelce’s good sense of humor definitely provides a much-needed respite from all the drama surrounding the league’s return to play amidst COVID-19 and player opt outs. And now that he is signed to a long-term deal for $57 million, Kelce certainly has more freedom to express himself and be funny.
