Alabama football star running back Najee Harris is a leader on the field for the Crimson Tide and he’s a leader off the field too.

Alabama running back Najee Harris is a Heisman candidate and one of the top running back prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft. Beyond being a great football player, the Crimson Tide star is also a leader off the field with the latest example being his leading a march for all athletes at Alabama for social justice.

Harris tweeted the plans for the march that will begin on Monday at 4 p.m. Athletes will march from the Mal Moore Athletics Facility to the schoolhouse door at Foster Auditorium.

“We want our voices to be heard as we strive to enact social change and rid our world of social injustices, Harris tweeted.”

Najee Harris organizes Alabama athlete march for lasting changes when it comes to social justice.

The march by Alabama athletes is the latest peaceful protest and organized movement among SEC programs. On Friday, Ole Miss players and coaches marched. This followed 80 Mississippi State football players boycotting practice in order to stand united. LSU football players marched to the office of the university president to talk about the need for change. At Oklahoma, players and coached marched for unity and registered to vote.

There likely will be more programs doing their own form of demonstration or protest police brutality, racial justice reform and other social inequalities.

The summer saw many programs across college march and hold rallies after the death of George Floyd that resulted in four Minneapolis police officers charged. Now, a few months later, the same is happening after the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
