Which NFL records could be broken during the 2020 NFL season?

A disclaimer of sorts to begin: The following 10 records are not “guarantees” or all-out prophecies that will come to fruition.

Instead, these milestones should be interpreted as feats that could reasonably be surpassed. Practicality and common sense are utilized rather than bombastic soothsaying methods.

Let’s be clear, any NFL record like single-game marks could topple on a given Sunday.  In particular, the records at hand are individual ones for specific players. Some interesting ones were even shattered last season.

Lamar Jackson accrued the most rushing yards in single-season by a quarterback (1,206). Jackson also had two games with a perfect passer rating, tieing Ben Roethlisberger for the most in a season.

Drew Brees completed 29 passes in 30 attempts during a 2019 game — the highest completion percentage (96.67) in NFL history for a game that a quarterback attempted more than 20 passes.

Jamies Winston notched two consecutive games with 450 or more passing yards, also an NFL record.

Michael Thomas set the single-season record for most receptions (149). That was a colossal achievement. Christian McCaffrey’s 116 catches were the most ever by a running back.

The assuredly-peculiar 2020 NFL season will have its fair share of records shattered. Here are 10 of the most fascinating ones.
