Ranking the top 10 quarterbacks in college football for the 2020 season.

College football is undeniably going to be different in the 2020 season as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and the unprecedented conditions the situation presents. The biggest difference is also the most obvious; two Power 5 conferences — the Big Ten and Pac-12 — won’t be competing in the fall, if they play at all.

Not having those two conferences play in the fall obviously takes away the opportunity for fans to see some of the best teams in college football. But on a narrower level, it also takes away the opportunity to see some great quarterbacks with legitimate NFL futures or at least a ton of intrigue at this level.

Chief in that category is, of course, Ohio State signal-caller Justin Fields. After earning a Heisman Trophy finalist bid and leading the Buckeyes to the College Football Playoff, there were extremely high hopes and a ton of anticipation for what his second season in Columbus would look like. Despite his best campaigning to play, though, we won’t see that.

Fields isn’t alone, though. Minnesota’s Tanner Morgan, Arizona State’s Jayden Daniels, Indiana’s Michael Penix Jr. and several others in the Big Ten and Pac-12 were going to be fascinating to watch. And even from the Group of 5, not getting to see players such as Kent State’s Dustin Crum is a shame as well.

But the doom and gloom should still be short-lived. There will be college football played in fall 2020 as six of the 10 FBS conferences are still moving forward. And with that, we’ll still get to watch a plethora of highly talented quarterbacks. In that light, let’s take a look at the 10 best quarterbacks who will be suiting up and playing college football this fall.
