Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Antoine Winfield Jr.

The word out of camp surrounding the Buccaneers’ rookie safety has been overwhelmingly positive. Winfield is in line for a massive role in his first year in the league and will have the benefit of playing behind a front seven that has the pass-rush talent to hurry quarterbacks into mistakes.

Winfield has the playmaking instincts of his father and can capitalize on those errors and insert himself into the Defensive Rookie of the Year conversation.

Tennessee Titans – Jeffery Simmons

Tennessee’s decision to select Simmons in the first round of last year’s draft despite the torn ACL he suffered preparing for it was somewhat vindicated as the defensive tackle proved key for the Titans in their run to the AFC Championship Game. While he again hasn’t had the benefit of a full offseason this year, Simmons should still be ready to emerge as a disruptive force from the interior for the Titans.

Washington Football Team – Chase Young

Young is one of the few things Washington fans can afford to get excited about in 2020. He was the obvious selection with the second overall pick in the draft and it could be a transformative one for the Washington defense.

Playing on a defensive front teeming with first-round talent, Young can immediately step in and enjoy the same impact fellow former Buckeye Nick Bosa did last year by tormenting opposing offensive linemen off the edge.
