The FanDuel/DFS community can rejoice! The last tournament of the PGA Tour season has arrived! The top 30 players in the FedEx Cup rankings will compete to win 15 million dollars.

Before I discuss my FanDuel player selections let’s take a quick look at the golf course and the unique scoring system that will dictate how the field will start the first round.

The 2020 Tour Championship will be played at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. This track is a par 70 that measures 7,346 yards. This golf course can best be described as a classical and technical golf course that features tree-lined fairways. The course features Bermuda grass greens and rough.

For those readers that are not aware, golfers will tee off on Friday with a predetermined score based on current FedEx Cup rankings. The FedEx Cup leader (Dustin Johnson) will start at 10 under par. The scores than continue to lower until the 30th player in the field comes in at even par.

Here are my FanDuel player selections for the 2020 Tour Championship!

Webb Simpson $11,300

The 35 year old American has played 13 tournaments on the PGA Tour this season. In those 13 events played, Simpson has an impressive eight top ten finishes, including two wins (2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open, 2020 RBC Heritage).

I also like the fact that Simpson has performed at a high level in the past at this event. Webb has three previous top five finishes at the Tour Championship, including a fourth place result in 2018.

Webb also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Simpson currently ranks first in birdie average (4.73), first in scoring average (68.866), sixth in GIR (greens in regulation-71.64%), and seventh in scrambling (65.31%) on the PGA Tour.

Daniel Berger $10,300

Berger has seven top ten finishes on the PGA Tour this season, including a win at the Charles Schwab Challenge in June.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2020 Tour Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Berger ranks third in strokes gained off the tee and fourth in strokes gained tee to green.

Hideki Matsuyama $10,000

Matsuyama has five top ten finishes on the PGA Tour this season, including a third place result at last week’s BMW Championship.

Harris English $9,800

He has five top 19 finishes in his last seven tournaments on the PGA Tour, including a second place result at the 2020 Northern Trust two weeks ago.

Xander Schauffele $9,500

The 26 year old American has played 17 events on the PGA Tour this season. In those 17 events played, Xander has an impressive 15 top 25 finishes, including a third place result at the Charles Schwab Challenge in June.

It is also worth noting that Xander finished second at the 2019 Tour Championship.

Scottie Scheffler $8,600

The American arrives at this week’s event on the heels of five consecutive top 22 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fourth place result at the PGA Championship last month.
