Alex Ovechkin’s two year old son, Sergei Ovechkin, is already on pace to be a hockey superstar just like his dad with his puck handling skills.

The 2036 NHL Draft Class already seems to have it’s headline player, because Sergei Ovechkin is already turning into a hockey prodigy just a few weeks after his second birthday.

Nastya Ovechkina, Alex’s wife, posted this adorable video on her Instagram of Sergei practicing his puck juggling skills with his father, Alex Ovechkin. At just two years old, Sergei can already juggle a puck on his stick better than more people.

This new video comes just a month after Sergei showed off his lethal backhand shot, where he was firing consecutive backhanders faster than some full grown adults ever will in their entire lives. He’s already well on pace to follow in Alex’s footsteps and continue the family business as a hockey star.

It’s hard to ask for a better teacher than Alex Ovechkin, arguably the greatest goal scorer of all time, and eighth all time in scoring as well as a record nine Rocket Richard trophies as the league’s leading goal scorer. If Sergei’s outstanding hand eye coordination is any indication, he’s also inherited his father’s absurd athleticism, which is just an unfair advantage over everybody else.

Ovechkin and his Washington Capitals were eliminated early in the playoffs by the New York Islanders a few weeks ago, allowing Ovechkin to return home to his family and be with Sergei and new born son Ilya Ovechkin.

The 2036 NHL Draft class better watch out, because the Ovechkin legacy does not end with Alex’s retirement. The coming of Sergei Ovechkin is in the cards already.
