Even Skip Bayless has started to sing LeBron James’ praises

After shaking the “not clutch” designation he acquired with the Cleveland Cavaliers, a narrative that crumbles instantly when you see what he did to the Pistons in 2007, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has spent the last few seasons leading some undermanned teams to championships. Despite his eight consecutive finals appearances, Skip Bayless doesn’t appear to be overly impressed with the performance James is putting together in the NBA bubble.

That all changed when James helped lead the Lakers to a close Game 2 victory over the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference semifinals, as Skip Bayless vouched for LeBron’s clutchness. Wasn’t this foretold in the Book of Revelations?

LeBron James has been clutch for a long time, Skip has just been denying it

Even when compared to NBA legends and contemporaries renowned for success in the clutch like Kobe Bryant, James’ numbers compare favorably. The fact that he occasionally struggles to dominate like Michael Jordan did on the 90s Bulls, ignoring the fact that Jordan had Phil Jackson Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman while LeBron played with the liked of David Blatt, Matthew Dellavedova, and Joel Anthony, is lost on Bayless.

Skip wasn’t totally done needling one of his more frequently used punching bags. Once a huge fan of Russell Westbrook, Bayless hinted that the Rockets point guard and hero in Skip’s home state of Oklahoma allowed LeBron to pull away due to his poor shooting. You just couldn’t resist, could you Skip?

Bayless appears to have broken kayfabe, as he has finally acknowledged that the man most considers either No. 1 or No. 1A in basketball history. Even with this recent revelation, if you think that Bayless won’t foam at the mouth the next time LeBron turns the ball over in the fourth quarter, that’s extremely naive.
