Alabama has the most alums on NFL rosters entering Week 1, topping Ohio State, LSU, Penn State and Florida.

Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide have never had any kind of an issue winning monster recruiting battles. If they ever need anything to send them over the top with a 5-star prospect, this fact will surely help things.

Entering Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season, Alabama and Saban can proudly say they have the most players on opening-week NFL rosters of any other college program in the country. It’s one thing to be able to claim 17 national titles but to produce NFL talent the way Alabama does surely is head-turning.

Alabama holds 55 former players who are currently on active NFL rosters

1. Alabama: 55
2. Ohio State: 50
3. LSU: 42
4. Florida: 39
5. Penn State: 34
6. Michigan: 33
7. Georgia: 32
8. Miami: 31

With 55 Alabama alums ready to suit up for NFL season-openers this Sunday, they’re at the top of the list. Ohio State is a close second with 50, while LSU, Florida and Penn State round out the top five with 42, 39 and 34 players, respectively.

Alabama’s high number shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, seeing as Saban and his coaching staff have been known for landing multiple 5-star players in each class. They also do a sensational job of coaching up the other guys on the field as well.

Entering the season, some of the biggest names getting ready to play are former Alabama standouts Minkah Fitzpatrick, Julio Jones, Amari Cooper and so many more. Fitzpatrick, who was traded last year by the Dolphins to the Steelers, has emerged as one of the best safeties in the game.

Jones and Cooper continue to be among the top receivers in the league. We’d of course be remiss to not mention Tua Tagovailoa, who was just selected with the No. 5 overall pick by Miami in the 2020 NFL Draft. He’ll start off his career as the backup to Ryan Fitzpatrick with the Dolphins, but Tagovailoa is the future of the franchise.

While Alabama fans can’t wait to see the Tide begin their season later this month, they can show love to more than 50 former standouts who will be hitting NFL fields this weekend.
