Sam Ehlinger and the rest of his Texas football teammates hope that they can be a unifier this season for the rest of the country.

America has been divided for quite some time now, but 2020 in particular has been rough due to the COVID-19 pandemic and racial injustice finally coming to light. It’s been a tough time for everyone and Texas Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger hopes he and his teammates can help bridge the gap and bring a sense of normalcy back to our country.

The return of college football is going to help put some people at ease because – well, it’s a distraction from what’s really going on in the world. Ehlinger’s point about people from all different walks of life coming together for one goal is an inspiring one and hopefully, this does help some people get through what’s been an extremely tough time for America (and the world).

Texas football is one of the best teams in the Big 12 this year and Sam Ehlinger is a big reason as to why.

Ehlinger and the Longhorns have yet to be able to top the Oklahoma Sooners for the Big 12 title, but they’ve turned things around after being fairly irrelevant for some time. Ehlinger threw for 3,663 yards and 32 touchdowns last year while throwing just ten picks and has a chance to make a huge name for himself ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft (assuming he does go pro).

College football players aren’t in a great spot this season with COVID-19 changing life as we know it, but they have a chance to make a difference and bring some positivity to people’s lives.

Sam Ehlinger and the Texas Longhorns kick off their 2020 season this Saturday against UTEP and will then begin their Big 12 conference portion of the schedule. Their biggest game comes against Oklahoma on October 10th.
