Barcelona know Arsenal need to offload salary ahead of next season. That’s why they’re making a cut-rate offer for Hector Bellerin.

Arsenal need to offload several stars to help lower their wage bill ahead of next season. Barcelona are keen to take advantage of the situation. The La Liga giants are ready to swoop in and steal Hector Bellerin away from the Gunners.

According to Sport, Barcelona officials are prepared to pay Arsenal £25 million for the speedy right back. Bellerin struggled last season due to injury, but one need only look back at his play two seasons ago to understand his quality. If he’s truly healthy, he could solve Barcelona’s issues at right back immediately upon his arrival.

Signing Bellerin for this sort of modest fee won’t cure all of Barcelona’s ills, but it could prove to be the transfer steal of the summer. His pace on the wing will do wonders to unlock the club’s attack. He also has the ability to give a significant boost to the club’s back line on the defensive end of the pitch.

What could Hector Bellerin do for Barcelona?

He’s just the sort of player Arsenal should be working hard to lock down for the long haul. It’s possible that Bellerin has already informed club officials that he doesn’t see his long-term future in North London. That’s the only logical reason for the Gunners to sell him this summer while his value is relatively low.

Barcelona officials deserve credit for seeing a potential bargain and moving decisively to get a deal done. Officials at the club shouldn’t hesitate to meet Arsenal’s full asking price and beat off several European rivals for Bellerin’s signature. PSG have also been interested in his services in recent weeks. Any hesitation by Barcelona might allow the French giants an opportunity to get back into the picture.

Next. Arsenal have ulterior motive for wanting Willian. dark

In the end, look for Bellerin to move to Barcelona in the very near future. He’ll be a key part of Ronald Koeman’s revolution at the Spanish club. Don’t be surprised if this move looks terrible in hindsight for Arsenal. Bellerin will become a casualty of the club’s heavy spending in attack.
