Clemson football team recreates music video for Drake’s hit song “Laugh Now Cry Later”
By John Buhler
Clemson football recreating “Laugh Now Cry Later” is worth the watch.
You have to watch the Clemson football team recreate the “Laugh Now Cry Later” music video.
Drake’s smash hit clearly inspired Trevor Lawrence and so many of his Clemson teammates to do their own spin on his music video. Whether they’re hooping, hitting baseballs off a roof or smiling at the bottom of the pool, you have to be blown away by the production value and the commitment to the art of the craft. The question is if Drake is now a Clemson fan, too?
Clemson football kicked Labor Day weekend off right with this remake.
When you’re pretty much on top of the college football world like Clemson is, you can pretty much do whatever you want. If Lawrence and his teammates want to recreate a Drake music video, then they should be allowed to recreate a Drake music video. The only challenging part of this video would have been if Clemson University was an Adidas or Under Armor school. Nike wins again.
Though Kevin Durant, Odell Beckham Jr. and Marshawn Lynch aren’t making cameos in this remake, Lawrence stars in it, as does No. 1 recruit in the 2020 class Bryan Bresee and even head coach Dabo Swinney at the very end. Clemson doesn’t need to do anything else for recruitment this year. They just need to win and look at the camera and say, “Baby” when they hit pay dirt.
Will this video come back to haunt Clemson? No, because even Florida State football fans think this is cool, well, because it is. Nobody loves this more than Nike, well, except maybe Drake. Does he have a favorite college football team yet? We know he’s Canadian, but he does sort of like Kentucky basketball a lot, too. Raptors, Tigers, what difference does it really make any how?
We can laugh now, but we’ll cry later after Clemson wins its third national title under Dabo.
