Chiefs fans booed during the moment of silence (Video)

Kansas City Chiefs fans were pure class by booing their players.
Kansas City Chiefs fans at Arrowhead Stadium booed during the moment of unity.
It was the Chiefs’ day in the sun to kickoff the 2020 NFL season. We’ve been through so much as a country in the last six months. The last time we saw an NFL game was Super Bowl 54 when the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Miami. Hosting the first game of the season vs. the Houston Texans, their fans booed the moment of unity.
It was an embarrassing moment for Chiefs Kingdom.
This was an atrocious look for Chiefs Kingdom and the NFL in general.
When you have “End Racism” spray painted at the back of the end zone and then you play the Tomahawk Chop, it’s hard to say you’re interested in change.
Players from both teams came together for a simple unifying gesture in an effort to bring people together, but the crowd at Arrowhead wasn’t having it. We finally have football back, with a game featuring two of the greatest quarterbacks in the AFC right now, yet, all we can really think about is members of Chiefs Kingdom just blatantly disrespecting what kind of year from hell it has been for seemingly everybody else.
You’re already the fan base that roots for the defending Super Bowl champions. In a matter of moments, you became the most despised team/fan base in the NFL, ripping that away from the Evil Empire New England Patriots. We just want to see some football. These players have been through so much and the least you could do is let them have their 30 seconds before performing.
The actions of the knuckle-draggers that booed isn’t representative of the entire fan base, but those who attended Thursday night‘s opener are making the rest of Chiefs Kingdom look very bad.
