This Sunday, the FanDuel/DFS community will be presented with the final round of the 2020 Safeway Open. Let’s take a look at the final round slate from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my FanDuel player selections I want to clearly state that this article is specifically focused on the final round contest. The final round contest is vastly different with regard to scoring than the traditional contest offered by FanDuel for DFS golf.

If you are not familiar with the rules for the final round contest I recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

Here are my FanDuel player selections for the final round of the 2021 Safeway Open!

Brendan Steele $11,400

Steele has illustrated in previous years that he can perform well at the Safeway Open. Let me be more specific. Steele won the Safeway Open in 2016 and 2017.

The American is currently ranked 16th in strokes gained approach and 21st in par four scoring average on the PGA Tour.

Sam Burns $9,900

Burns has five top 32 finishes in his last seven events on the PGA Tour, including a 13th place result at the Wyndham Championship in August.

As of this writing (Friday evening), through two rounds of competitive play at the 2021 Safeway Open, Burns is currently in first place with a cumulative two round score of 15 under par.

Kevin Streelman $9,000

The 41 year old American has four top ten finishes on the PGA Tour in the last 12 months, including two second place results (2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the 2020 Travelers Championship).

When playing final round DFS golf contests, I like to look at key player statistics for the event as it is ongoing. Having stated that, let’s take a look at how Streelman is performing in relation to the field. After two rounds of play at the 2021 Safeway Open, in relation to the field, Streelman is currently ranked 18th in driving accuracy and 19th in strokes gained off the tee.

After two rounds of play at the 2021 Safeway Open, Streelman is currently in a tie for 34th place with a cumulative two round score of six under par. It should be noted that Streelman posted a score of 66 in today’s second round at the 2021 Safeway Open.

Nick Watney $8,100

Watney fired a final round 68 at the 3M Open in July en route to an eventual 12th place finish.

After two rounds of play at the 2021 Safeway Open, in relation to the field, Watney is currently ranked sixth in GIR (greens in regulation) and 11th in strokes gained tee to green.

Brian Stuard $8,000

The American has eight top 30 finishes on the PGA Tour in the last 12 months, including a 20th place result at the Travelers Championship in June.

Stuard is currently ranked third in driving accuracy (71.84%) on the PGA Tour.

Bo Hoag $7,900

The 32 year old American has two top 29 finishes in his last four events on the PGA Tour, including a 12th place finish at the 3M Open in July. It should be noted that Hoag fired a final round 63 at the 3M Open.
