When the Eagles take on Washington this Sunday, they’ll unfortunately be without speedster Miles Sanders

There are some monster expectations for running back Miles Sanders with the Philadelphia Eagles this season. However, things will be put on a brief hold for him.

This week, Sanders has been trying to battle through a nagging hamstring injury to get himself ready for the Week 1 showdown against the Washington football team. However, it was announced on Saturday afternoon that he won’t be suiting up and won’t even be traveling with the team so he can stay in Philly and focus on his recovery.

The Eagles will lead on Corey Clement and Boston Scott with Miles Sanders sidelined

This is a bit of a disappointing update for Sanders, who is entering 2020 with some high expectations as the team’s featured running back. However, his injury is not a serious one, and the hope for the offense and Carson Wentz is that he’ll be able to suit up for Week 2.

Last season, his rookie campaign, Sanders appeared in 16 games and made 11 starts. He rushed for 818 yards and three touchdowns, averaging an impressive 4.6 yards per carry. He was also a force catching the ball out of the backfield, posting 50 receptions for 509 yards and three more scores.

The 5-foot-11, 211-pound speedster of course was hoping to get himself on the field this weekend, but the Eagles don’t want to put his long-term health at risk. Because of that, Philadelphia fans will now see what both Corey Clement and Boston Scott can do with Sanders not able to go.

The Eagles will want to start the season off on the right foot, as they’re hoping to once again take home the NFC East crown and provide even more heartache for Cowboys fans everywhere.
