The newest iteration of the Big Ten football schedule will be unveiled on Saturday morning.

Will the third time be the charm for the Big Ten football schedule?

On Saturday morning, the league is set to announce its conference slate for the third time in 2020. This time it’ll come on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff at 10:00 a.m. Eastern.

The show will include Ohio State’s Ryan Day, Penn State’s James Franklin and Northwestern’s Pat Fitzgerald.

The Big Ten football schedule will begin on Oct. 24.

Early this week the Big Ten announced their decision to restart their fall football season.

When they canceled the season in the first place back in August, the news came less than a week after they announced a conference-only, coronavirus-adjusted slate. Football fans across the country will hope another swift turn around doesn’t happen again.

The new slate will include nine total games. Each program will play an eight-game regular season beginning on Oct. 24.

Teams will play on consecutive weekends through October, November and into December. Then the conference title game will be played on Dec. 19 with additional games pairing the rest of the teams up according to division standing.

The schedule released in early August was supposed to include 10 conference games, so there will have to be some adjustments for the new campaign.

There are seven teams in each division, so it stands to reason those matchups will remain, even if they are rearranged. Each team will have additional room for two cross-division matchups.

Since Ohio State and Michigan are both in the East Division there is no worry of that rivalry tilt being impacted. Whether or not playoff contenders like the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions are matched up against the likes of Wisconsin in the West will have to be seen.
