Ryan Tannehill has a favorable Week 2 matchup, but a limited offense.

A pair of undefeated AFC South rivals will clash along the Banks of the Cumberland River on Sunday afternoon. Yes, we are talking about the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. the Tennessee Titans. Though both teams are fresh off Week 1 victories, only one will reign supreme to gain an early lead in the divisional race. With this game at home, is it a good idea to stream Ryan Tannehill?

Mike Wright of The Fantasy Footballers picked the Titans quarterback as his stream of the week. Though Tannehill wasn’t utterly electrifying in Week 1, he did completed 67.4 percent of his passes for 249 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions on the road vs. a feisty Denver Broncos team. Going up against presumably a lesser Jaguars team, maybe he’s worth streaming?

The issues with streaming Tannehill in Week 2 are two-fold: One, we can’t say for certain the Jaguars are a deplorably bad team anymore. They did win convincing at home vs. another division rival in the Indianapolis Colts. Even if the Colts didn’t punt, a win is something. And two, Tannehill and the Titans offense will be without No. 1 wide receiver A.J. Brown in this one due to injury.

Derrick Henry may be the best play here, but Ryan Tannehill can get his.

While it’s probably a tad too early to start streaming quarterbacks, if you really want to go down that rabbit hole, Tannehill has to be your guy this week. Brown might be out, but Tannehill still has wide receiver Corey Davis and tight end Jonnu Smith to throw the ball to in this one. Though the ideal fantasy matchup in this game is Titans running back Derrick Henry, Tannehill will get his, too.

Keep in mind Tannehill is at his very best when he can make plays in space off play-action. While he only had three carries for 14 yards vs. the Broncos defense, Tannehill is bound to run the ball at least a few more times for some additional yardage. This is a big reason why Tannehill can be such a viable fantasy football quarterback from time to time. He can still move the sticks with his legs.

Ultimately, it will be a bold move to stream Tannehill as your QB1 in Week 2, but it’s a roster move that might pay dividends for you. He averaged 19.4 fantasy points last week against the Broncos in a decent game from him. Since the Jaguars don’t believe in forcing the opposition to punt, look for Tannehill to push closer to 25 fantasy points this week, as the Titans likely improve to 2-0.
