Week 2 of NFL fantasy football should be productive for quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, running back Josh Jacobs, wide receiver Davante Adams and tight end Dallas Goedert.  All of these players started the season with solid performances and are expected to exceed what they did in week 1.

Let’s start the Fantasy Point-of-View (POV) for week 2 with the quarterbacks.

Surefire Starters at Quarterback

  • Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, wasn’t the best QB in week 1 but he was productive enough to beat the Houston Texans.  The Chargers didn’t show much in week 1 and Mahomes won’t disappoint in this AFC West Division contest.
  • Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens quarterback, is the No. 2 quarterback in the NFL and he should outshine Houston’s fine quarterback Deshaun Watson.  It could be similar to the Texans-Chiefs game played in week 1.

Riding the Bench

  • Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams quarterback, may have completed 64.5% of his passes in week 1, but his lack of touchdown passes (zero last Sunday) is a concern.  He threw a career-worst 16 tinterceptions last year and cannot afford a similar performance this year.
  • Tyrod Taylor, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback, had problems directing the L.A. offense. Once considered a running threat, Taylor ran 6 times for 7 yards.  His inability to lead his team down the field could spell trouble for Philip Rivers’ replacement.

Underrated

  • Joe Burrow. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, has performed admirably in his first two games as a starting NFL QB.  He has 40.86 fantasy football points, completed 60 out of 97 passes for 509 yards and thrown 3 touchdown passes and one interception in two games.  If he can maintain a 20.4-point level of consistency, he’ll get plenty of attention in the future.

Overrated

  • In a preview of  Thursday night’s game,I wrote“Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns QB, to wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (OBJ) may be the most overrated passing combo in the NFL.” Well, it is time to eat some proverbial crow.  OBJ was targeted 6 times, caught 4 passes for 74 yards and scored a touchdown in DLeveland’s 35-30 win ocwe Cincinnati.  His 17.4-point effort is a step in the right direction for a fantasy football wide receiver.  .

Sleeper QB of the Week

  • Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills quarterback, had 28.18 fantasy football points in week 1 of the season.  He completed 33 out of 46 passes for 312 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He frases a Miami defense that couldn’t keep up with Cam Newton and the revamped New England offense in week 1.
