The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are coming off a big win over Florida State in their season opener, but can they keep the wins coming with UCF up next?

The second year of the Geoff Collins era at Georgia Tech got off to a great start last Saturday as the Yellow Jackets went on the road and took down the Flordia State Seminoles in their 2020 season opener. This victory was led by a standout performance by quarterback Jeff Sims, who was able to shake off two first-half interceptions and finish with 227 passing yards, one touchdown, and another 64 yards on the ground.

And while Sims was getting things done on offense, the Yellow Jackets’ defense was impressive, forcing three turnovers, including two late fumbles, one in which that led to what would be the game-winning field goal for Georgia Tech. Tech’s defense would finish with allowing just over 300 yards of offense, three sacks, six tackles for loss, and seven pass breakups.

The Yellow Jackets’ second game of the season is their only non-conference game of 2020 and they take on the UCF Knights. The Knights have been one of the best Group of Five teams over the past three seasons, and look to bounce back from a somewhat-down 2019 season. The Group of Five’s chances of making the College Football Playoff has never been better given the current circumstances created by the ongoing pandemic, and with an undefeated season, including a win over Georgia Tech, the Knights will have a great argument of making the Playoff this season.

But the Yellow Jackets obviously have something they want to say about that and want to continue the momentum created by their season-opening win. Can Georgia Tech pick up another big win? Or is UCF destined for another season of flirting with the Playoff?

Here’s how to watch and bet on the UCF vs Georgia Tech game

Date: Saturday, Sept. 19
Start Time: 3:30 p.m. ET
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Stadium: Bobby Dodd Stadium
TV Info: ABC
Odds: UCF -7.5, O/U 61.5
Live Stream: WatchESPN

Prediction: The Knights have a high scoring offense that scores quickly, but their ability to score quick can sometimes hurt them on the defensive side. The Knights are going to hit some big plays and make Tech earn this one. But something tells me the Yellow Jackets have what it takes to take down the Knights. If Tech can avoid turnovers and respond with some big plays of their own, this game can be theirs for the taking. This one will come down to the wire but Georgia Tech gets the win in my upset of the week.

Score: Georgia Tech 38, UCF 37.
