Broncos quarterback Drew Lock was taken to the locker room after taking a monster hit against the Steelers on Sunday.

Denver Broncos fans everywhere are holding their breath right now, after Drew Lock left Sunday’s game with an injury. In the Broncos Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the second-year signal-caller took a hard hit after fumbling the rock and was clearly shaken up.

Lock was ruled out for the remainder of the game just before halftime.

With Lock getting looked at by the team’s medical staff, backup quarterback Jeff Driskley will be called upon if Lock is unable to return. It’s been announced that Lock is questionable to return, so we’ll have to wait and see if he’s able to get back on the field against Pittsburgh.

In Lock’s case, if he’s forced to miss an extensive amount of time, it’d be trouble for Vic Fangio and the Broncos offense. The second-year quarterback has high expectations for the rest of the year, with him and Melvin Gordon expected to bring plenty of excitement back to the Mile High City.

In Lock’s case, though, he’s the future of the team, so the coaching staff will not want to rush him back into action. Bringing him back too soon would be a massive mistake. The severity of Lock’s injury is yet to be determined, but the fact that he was hit so hard and had to be taken to the locker room is definitely concerning. Stay tuned to see what Lock’s status is moving forward, Broncos fans.
