The Lions were one D’Andre Swift catch away from a 1-0 start to the season, and a near-collapse forgotten. Yet, it wasn’t meant to be, and Swift got stone hands at the worst possible time, dropping a game-winning touchdown pass and allowing the Bears to complete their surprising comeback with Mitchell Trubisky at the helm. It was a story that — given the Lions long history of suffering — we probably should’ve seen coming.

Detroit must have a short memory going into Week 2, as they travel to Green Bay for the Packers home opener at Lambeau Field. It’s not an easy turnaround for a team with high hopes in the NFC North in 2020, and facing last year’s division champions is never an enviable task.

The Packers, meanwhile, dominated offensively against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. The Vikings defense aren’t pushovers, instead proving that Aaron Rodgers is as motivated as ever. Intentional or not, the Packers lit a fire underneath their future Hall of Fame signal-caller when they selected his potential replacement in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft in Jordan Love. Rather than surround Rodgers with the war chest of weapons he deserves, Green Bay’s front office has proven once again that the Cal product shouldn’t get too comfortable at his advanced age.

Against the Lions, the Packers will look to attack a young Lions secondary which features No. 3 overall pick Jeff Okudah. Meanwhile, the Lions must attack the Packers rush defense with their three-headed monster of Kerryon Johnson, Adrian Peterson and Swift.
