QB. New York Jets. Sam Darnold. 1. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 30

There are teams that still have something to believe in and then there’s the New York Jets. It took us a grand total of two weeks, but it has been firmly established that Gang Green is the worst team in the NFL by a country mile. They stink and so does their former first-round quarterback Sam Darnold. He couldn’t do much of anything against a beat-up San Francisco 49ers team.

The Jets were blown out at home to the tune of 31-13. Keep in mind this was a game where the 49ers suffered injuries to key players such as defensive end Nick Bosa and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Darnold went out there and saw ghosts. He completed 21-of-32 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown. He is a player who should be thriving in year three out of USC, not fluctuating.

If we are going to keep getting uninspired performances out of Darnold every week, then we’re better served seeing Joe Flacco out there in all honesty. At least his uninspired performances result in playoff berths and postseason success. Keep in mind he is the last Baltimore Ravens quarterback to win a playoff game and not Lamar Jackson, who is still 0-2 in as many chances.

Next. Vikings fans don’t deserve how bad Kirk Cousins is playing. dark

Whoever is running the Jets into the ground these days may need to realize drafting quarterbacks in the first round out of USC doesn’t translate into winning on Sunday. There is a guy in Clemson, South Carolina who would just love to come play for your bad football team next year. While the Big Apple ain’t Duval, the Jets may need to come to grips with Darnold is not Joe Namath.
