San Francisco 49ers’ star Nick Bosa was carted off the field in today’s game.

The San Francisco 49ers were banged up entering their matchup with the New York Jets and may have suffered another big loss. Defensive lineman Nick Bosa was carted off the field after his knee buckled on a running play midway through the first quarter.

San Francisco, who was already without Richard Sherman, Dee Ford, Deebo Samuel and George Kittle entering this game, also saw Solomon Thomas carted off a few plays later.

According to Kim Jones of NFL Network, both Bosa and Thomas have been ruled out for the game with knee injuries.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo came up limping after a sack by Quinnen Williams on the previous drive but hasn’t had a chance to test the injury in a game situation yet. He was being taped on the sidelines during the time of his post.

Bosa, 22, earned Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2019. The former Ohio State star was unblockable for much of his first season, and was dominant in Super Bowl LIV with 12 quarterback pressures.

Without Bosa, Ford and Thomas, the only remaining starter on the defensive line from last year’s NFC champs is Arik Armstead. DeForest Buckner was traded to the Indianapolis Colts in March, with the 49ers getting a first-round pick in return. The selection was used on Buckner’s replacement in rookie Javon Kinlaw out of South Carolina.
