Will star Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith be able to take the field in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks?

The Dallas Cowboys are still riding the high from Sunday’s heart-stopping, improbable comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2. Now, could more good news be on the way for the Mike McCarthy and the the Dallas offense?

In that win over Atlanta, the Cowboys were without superstar left tackle Tyron Smith due to a neck injury. However, per Stephen Jones, the massive lineman is trending in the right direction and could be able to take the field this weekend for the monster showdown against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.

Tyron Smith returning to face Seattle would be incredible news for Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott

Smith suffered his neck injury during practice last week, forcing him to miss Week 2. While the hope is that he’ll be ready to rock against Seattle and protect Dak Prescott’s blindside like usual, Jones didn’t rule out the Cowboys potentially being without him as well.

It looks like it will be a wait and see for Smith, but getting him on the field to face the Seahawks would be massive. Seattle’s defense struggled to stop the New England defense in Week 2, but the defensive line was able to get into the backfield quite a bit to put pressure on Cam Newton.

They’ll look to do the same to Prescott in Week 3, while also hoping to clog up holes and prevent Ezekiel Elliott from getting hot running the pigskin from the start. In what figures to be a see-saw battle, the Seahawks vs. Cowboys showdown should go down to the wire. If Smith is able to go, Dallas will have much more confidence for a tough road game at CenturyLink Field.
